Durable Porcelain Tile

Porcelain tile is a type of ceramic tile, but because it is baked at a higher temperature it is denser and resistant to heat and moisture. Porcelain tile is more water resistant than ceramic so you can install it in places like your laundry room and even outside as a patio without worrying about moisture being absorbed and causing cracks. Porcelain that absorbs less than 0.5% moisture is actually considered waterproof, and can be installed in showers and even outside of your home. All porcelain tiles are ceramic, but not all ceramic is porcelain.
